Whole Wheat Oatmeal Banana Bread

A healthy and satisfying whole wheat bread!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup applesauce unsweetened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups bananas mashed (about 4 bananas)
  • 1 ½ cups white whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9x5 inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix applesauce, eggs, vanilla extract and bananas.
  • In another large bowl mix the remaining dry ingredients together.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until all ingredients are combined.
  • Add batter to loaf pan and sprinkle top with additional oats if desired.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until baked thoroughly.

Notes

Serve with jam or butter if desired (I used Light Olivio)
