Beef Lo Mein

Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds top sirloin petite steak cubed
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 cup sugar snap peas
  • 1 cup chopped fresh broccoli
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 5 ounce can water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 5 ounce can bean sprouts, drained OR 1/2 cup raw bean sprouts
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 8 ounce package Lo Mein Noodles

Instructions
 

  • Cook noodles according to directions (mine took 5 minutes).
  • Heat 2 tablespoons sesame oil over medium heat in a large wok. Add steak cubes and cook about 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from wok when they are mostly cooked.
  • Add vegetables to same wok and another tablespoon of sesame oil if needed.
  • Combine sauce ingredients and mix together.
  • Cook until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  • Add cooked beef, sauce and noodles to wok. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
