ginger

butter
1 stick

egg

cup
buttermilk
or 1/2 cup milk + 1 teaspoon white vinegar

maple syrup

teaspoon
vanilla extract

chopped walnuts
1/4
cup
raisins
sugar for topping

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Combine all dry ingredients.
Add cold butter to dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingers until mixture resembles small crumbles.
Add the egg, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
Stir in walnuts and raisins.
Place dough on a flour covered cutting board. Shape into a large circle and cut into 8 triangle shapes.
Place scones onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
