Thank you to Produce for Kids for sponsoring this post.

So far, my family and I are having a blast this summer. I am particularly trying to make the most out of this summer since I have exactly two months off from my school job and am loving every moment. This is only our second summer at our house so we are far from getting bored at the lake (which we hope we never do!). And of course getting to know more and more friendly neighbors sure doesn’t hurt either.

This past week we went with another neighbor and her kids to go strawberry picking at one of my favorite farms. I have taken my kids strawberry picking before, but the last time was at least 3 years ago so they hardly remember it. strawberry picking

The temps were perfect and there were still plenty of strawberries to pick so we all had a great time. I love having these opportunities to teach my kids where food actually comes from!

Now on to this delicious and versatile snack. I have teamed up with Produce for Kids to bring you this simple yogurt parfait and let you know about their partnership with Meijer and the Jump with Jill (a healthy eating and fitness program for school-age children) going on from June 2 through June 30. Produce for Kids is not only a website full of healthy recipes approved by registered dietitians, nutrition tips and meal planning tools but they are also a philanthropically-based organization that brings the produce industry together to educate consumers about healthy eating and raises funds for local children’s non-profits.

And next time you’re shopping at Meijer, look for these recipe ideas like I spotted last week.
