Kid-Friendly Healthy Recipes {Zoo Themed}

Three healthy zoo-themed recipes are not only delicious but they are simple enough to make that even toddlers can help!

Zoo themed recipes

I have teamed up with Door to Door Organics again to help inspire kids to eat healthy and show you some fun recipes that are included in their Rezoopie® Cookbook.  Not only are they healthy recipes, but the entire cookbook can be downloaded here, and you can order the ingredients right from Door to Door Organic’s website to be shipped to your house.  It doesn’t get much simpler than that!  If you’d like to learn more about Door to Door Organics check out my previous post and their awesome Convenient and Healthy Grocery Delivery Service.  And if you’ve never used their service before be sure grab my code “CHOCOLATES” for $10 off your first delivery.

Detroit Zoo D2D

“We see a bear!!!”

My kids, mom and I visited the Detroit Zoo and tried to search for some of the animals that were highlighted in the cookbook.  And although many of the animals were a bit lazy that day, we did have some luck!  We visited the Australian Outback and saw some kangaroos (to fit with the Pita-Roos recipe below).  This area is unique because it’s the only place in the entire zoo that you are actually in the animals’ habitat. Kangaroos could actually run across your path (although unfortunately they were comfortable lounging quietly that day).

Rezoopie® Recipes

Below you’ll find the three recipes I chose to taste test from the Rezoopie® Cookbook.  And let me tell you, the kids LOVED helping me make them!

Chimpanzee-Licious Pasta: a delicious, simple pasta that is packed with veggies and whole grains.

Even a one year old can help 🙂

One of the best parts about these recipes is that you can order all the ingredients right from Door to Door Organics (like the pasta, green beans, spinach and corn pictured below).

Thanks Kalee! My kids LOVE the zoo as well, and it was fun to talk about what types of food (veggies) the animals enjoy like we do :)
