I’m finally making more salmon dishes and can’t get enough!

Remember this Salmon Recipe Roundup? It was a nice jump start that I needed to start cooking more of this nutritious fish.

Not that I don’t love all kinds of fish, I just needed some encouragement and inspiration. Well, I’m so glad I decided to try another salmon recipe because this recipe definitely fits into the delicious and nutritious categories!

You’ll notice that the salmon in this recipe is practically a recipe in itself. But you know I love adding wraps or some sort of whole grain to most meals. You can easily make the salmon one day (like I did) and then wraps the next day. And I highly suggest making the Greek yogurt sauce to go along with it!

Of course you can always leave the salmon in its whole fillet shape. I personally enjoy chopping it up into small flakes for these wraps.

Dietitian’s Dish

These salmon wraps make up quite the nutrition powerhouse meal. They are full of whole grains (including 8 grams of fiber in the flatbread).

And they are also full of healthy fats from the salmon and avocado.

Fatty fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids (healthy fats that may reduce your risk of heart disease). Here is a list of fatty fish:

  • salmon
  • mackerel
  • herring
  • lake trout
  • sardines
  • albacore tuna

It’s recommended that we consume two servings (3.5 ounces) of fatty fish weekly. So by consuming just one of these wraps you’ve practically met the recommendation!

In addition to the healthy fats found in salmon, avocados contain mono-unsaturated fats along with close to 20 vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that make this fruit an awesome addition to any meal.
