This gift guide is focused on all things for runners, however many of these products can definitely be useful for walkers, roller bladers and more! Since this is moving week for us I’m not quite focused on running but I am getting into the mindset again, partially because Dan and I signed up for a 1/2 marathon this spring, the Rock CF half marathon in Grosse Ile, Michigan. It’s been quite some time that we’re both run a race together and I can’t wait! It will be far from a PR (personal record) for either of us, but that’s not the point. For us, having a race to look forward definitely helps both of us to stay motivated and fit running into our busy schedules.

This list is a compilation of fitness and running items that I use regularly to help me stay on track.  Hopefully this list inspires you to get outside (or on the dreadmill aka treadmill) and get moving whether it be running or walking!

Contigo AUTOSPOUT Addison Reusable Water Bottle, 24oz, Watermelon: I literally don’t leave home without this bottle. I love it so much that I bought the Contigo Autospout Striker Kids Water Bottle  version too for each of my kids – which is completely spill-proof!

Brooks Women’s Defyance 9 Sneaker: I have tried several shoes in the past and this one absolutely fits my feet the best. If you’re local to Metro Detroit you must check out Hanson’s Running Shops. They will fit you for the right running shoe that is perfect for your specific foot and they also have quite the variety of running shoes and gear.

BOB Revolution SE Duallie Stroller AND BOB Revolution SE Single Stroller: Yes we own both the single and the double and yes this is quite the investment, however, when we first started having kids I had just completed my first half ironman triathlon and first full marathon and I had no plans to slow down. Besides not wanting to rack up miles and miles on the treadmill, I also did not have a gym membership when I had a child under a year old so instead the cost of the strollers made up for a few years without a gym membership. Of course there are cheaper jogging strollers but I like to call this the “Cadillac of jogging strollers.” And since I knew I would be running long distances with it (pushed my oldest son in a half marathon race at 9 months old), I knew I wanted to make it as easy as possible. Since then, Dan and I can be found around town pushing ALL 3 KIDS in the strollers…quite the workout to say the least (they are currently, 2, 4 and 6 years old!).

BOB duallie and single strollers

We also purchased this BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter Duallie for when we had one baby still in their infant car seat. It was much more comfy of a ride (and warmer) to ride in their car seat. Just be sure to purchase the correct adapter (this one was specifically for Graco car seats).

Nathan Speed 2 Waist Pack with Two 10-Ounce Bottles: We have both the 2 bottle and 4 bottle packs. Both are a great way to carry water with you on longer runs or even shorter runs in the warm months. They also come with an enclosed pouch that can hold energy gels and packs and keys.

Garmin Forerunner 920XT Black/Blue Watch: This is truely the watch of all sports watches, it practically does everything. If you’re a numbers person (like my engineer husband), you’ll LOVE all the tracking it can do. We had an older version we purchased 8 years ago which worked well for years, however since then we’ve upgraded to this version, especially because it’s waterproof! Obviously not important for those who aren’t doing triathlons, however any Garmin Forerunner watch is an excellent choice when it comes to tracking your speed, time, heart rate, etc.
I hope this guide inspires you to add a few of these items to your Christmas wish list to get 2017 started out on the right healthy foot!
